Mosaic Georgia
Mosaic Georgia’s mission is to create safety, healing, and justice for children and adults impacted by sexual and gender-based violence. A certified Sexual Assault Center, Children’s Advocacy Center, and Human Trafficking Victim Services Organization in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Mosaic serves more than 3,200 people annually, 90% of whom are women and girls. Their work addresses not only the immediate trauma of sexual violence, but also the social stigma, health disparities, and systemic inequities that survivors face.
Founded in 1986 as a grassroots response to the lack of local survivor support, Mosaic pioneered community-based forensic medical exams, trauma-informed counseling, and advocacy services. Today, nearly four decades later, it stands as one of Georgia’s most trusted centers for healing and justice. In 2025, Mosaic opened a 16,000-square-foot trauma-informed facility that centralizes all programs under one roof, providing space for confidential, culturally responsive care and expanding capacity to meet growing community needs.
With funding from the Aura Cacia Positive Change Project, Mosaic is expanding its Legal Empowerment & Healing Pathways project, an integrated initiative providing free civil legal
advocacy and trauma-responsive mental health services for women and adolescent girls. Each year, more than 900 survivors will receive help securing protective orders, navigating family law, accessing educational accommodations, and participating in therapy, peer support groups, and holistic healing practices including art, movement, and mindfulness. Services are bilingual and culturally tailored to meet the diverse needs of the communities Mosaic serves.
This work supports and empowers women and girls to move from crisis to confidence, reclaiming safety, self-respect, and agency. Beyond individual healing, Mosaic’s approach strengthens families and communities, creating a ripple effect of resilience, advocacy, and leadership. By combining legal protection with emotional restoration, Mosaic helps survivors transform trauma into hope, independence, and long-term stability.
