How to Spice Apples

Crisp, sweet apples. Hard to beat as a snack and even more appealing baked in a pie. If you’re looking for a little apple inspiration, you’ve come to the right place. Spice up your apple cookery with Frontier spices and you’ll be the apple of everyone’s eye.

Anise StarAnise - A sweet but mild licorice flavor good for apple pies, cookies, and coffee cakes

Apple Pie and Dessert Spice - Frontier's own special blend of cinnamon, fenugreek, lemon peel, ginger, cloves and nutmeg, for use in apple pies, crisps, cobblers, and cakes.

Basil - Apple stuffing

Caraway - Apple pies, cookies, cakes, and breads

Cardamom - Apple salads, baked apple dishes, cakes, and custards

Cider MateCider Spices - Frontier makes spiced cider easy with three delicious Cider Mate blends: Original Spice (cinnamon, allspice, orange and lemon peel, nutmeg, star anise, cloves, fenugreek and ginger); Citrus Spice (cinnamon, orange peel, allspice, cloves, and hibiscus); and certified organic Mulling Spice (cinnamon, orange peel, allspice, cloves, and ginger).

Poppy seeds - Apple breads, fruit salads, cakes, and pastries. Heat or crush the poppy seeds before adding to the recipe to release their full nutty flavor.

Rosemary - Apple-chicken or apple-pork recipes, and apple stuffings

Sesame seeds - Apple breads, rolls, or cakes. Heat or toast the seeds before adding to the recipe to release their full flavor.

Vanilla extract - Apple salads, preserves, compotes, pies, cookies, and cakes. Or, experiment with other extracts and flavorings to bring new flavors to your fruit salads and baked goods.
