Consider Essential Oils for More Enjoyable Travel

Whether you’re trying to get away from work on a rare vacation, or to work during your regular commute, or even just running errands around town, travel hardly ever seems to be easy, quick or safe. • Protect: If everyone around you seems to be ill, or if you find yourself in less than clean public transportation, use a blend of 12 drops tea tree, 6 drops lemon and 6 drops lavender with 4 ounces of water. Use as a purifying air and hand spray.

Neroli Essential OilOne of the most popular essential oils, peppermint's key aromatherapy benefits are that it's awakening, refreshing and reviving. And who doesn’t need a little lift now and then?

Peppermint oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and tops of the Mentha X piperita plant and is one of the few essential oils produced in America. Most peppermint oil is distilled a second time to remove all but the menthol constituent, which is used in peppermint flavorings and in over-the-counter oral care products like toothpaste and mouthwash. The finest oil for aromatherapy purposes has not gone through this refinement process and therefore contains all of the active properties of the plant. You'll notice that Aura Cacia’s pure, non-redistilled peppermint oil has a unique creamy, buttery texture and mint aroma.

Apply peppermint as a cooling, refreshing compress to revive you on hot, hectic days:
Add 7 to 10 drops of peppermint essential oil to a quart of cool water. Swish a washcloth in the water, ring out excess and drape on forehead or back of neck.

Create a soothing, penetrating muscle and joint massage:
Add 12 drops peppermint essential oil and 12 drops lavender essential oil to 4 ounces of sweet almond oil. Smooth over body and massage into muscles.
