Prep: 4 Ways to Whip Up Great Food & Drink
There's really no need to fuss over party food. These five tips will make sure your party fare is a sure-fire success with all of your guests.
- Plan. Organize beverages ahead of time. Consider one signature cocktail available in a pitcher with modest-sized glasses, a selection of beers and soft drinks on ice, and a bottle of red and white wine. Guests can serve themselves.
- Prioritize. Organize food that holds at room temperature ahead of time. Consider preparing one signature item and buy the rest. Lay out your offerings on trays and set them out as needed.
- Diversify. Choose a variety of easy snacks from the market and simply arrange them nicely in your own unique containers. Snacks could include a selection of gourmet nuts, confections, a bamboo tray of cheeses, bowls of marinated olives, heirloom vegetable crudités, etc.
- Guide. Consider breaking the offerings down into different areas to encourage circulation and to signal to guests where the party boundaries lie.
