ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE MONTH

LEMON

You might associate the fresh aroma and cleansing properties of lemon essential oil with home care products such as surface cleansers and furniture polish. But lemon's unique properties can also provide a powerful boost to easy-to-create personal care products such as a delightful skin-enhancing sugar scrub or skin-brightening toning mist. In addition, the scent of lemon seems to energize and brighten spirits, providing the positive attitude adjustment that we all need from time to time.

Purifying Lemon Sugar Scrub
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (preferably organic, unrefined)
1 tablespoon grapeseed or jojoba oil
6 drops lemon essential oil
3 drops lavender essential oil

Mix ingredients. Apply scrub to skin with gentle circular buffing. Rinse away sugar and dead skin.

Clear Skin Lemon Toning Mist
4 ounces purified water
15 drops lemon essential oil
8 drops lavender essential oil
1 drop neroli essential oil

Place ingredients in a spray mist bottle, shake and apply to skin after cleansing.
