With warm weather in the air, camping and hiking might be on your summer fun agenda. How about bringing essential oils along for the ride?
Around the campsite or in the woods
Before setting out for a long day of walking, a drop of peppermint oil on the bottom of each sock will give you a cooling sensation on your feet. And, essential oils such as lemon eucalyptus and citronella are perfect for helping ward-off buzzing campsite pests, while providing a pleasing aroma. The invigorating scents can also boost energy before a hike through the woods.
Soothing Muscle Rub
To help soothe and relax around the campfire after a long day’s trek, blend 2 drops of wintergreen oil, 2 drops of lavender and 10 drops of German Chamomile Precious Essential Oil into your hand and rub on your achy feet and legs.
No camping trip is complete without a group member getting fried by the sun. Packing a mist bottle with lavender oil and water can help soothe and cool skin. The combination creates a calming sensation and a relaxing smell that will salvage any camping trip plagued by too much of a good thing.
