ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE MONTH

Aura Cacia Tea Tree Essential OilTea Tree

The Aboringinal people of Australia first recognized the therapeutic potential of the fragrant leaves of Tea tree and used the plant in herbal medicine for hundreds of years before the technology was developed to isolate the potent essential oil. Tea tree oil is distilled from the fragrant leaves and stems which are sustainably sheared from the plant. The spicy, clean, medicinal aroma is a natural and effective broad spectrum antimicrobial that you can easily incorporate into the routines of everyday living. Tea tree is a great natural botanical alternative to synthetic chemical sanitizing agents.

Skin Protecting Oil
1 teaspoon jojoba oil
1 teaspoon grapeseed oil
3 drops tea tree essential oil
3 drops lavender essential oil

Mix ingredients. Smooth over clean skin with a soft cotton ball.

Purifying Foot and Toes Spray
4 ounces bottled or distilled water

6 drops lavender essential oil

FACIAL CLEANSER

Soaps and skin-cleansing products are often alkaline and harsh to your skin – especially dry skin. Using a neutral or acid base for your cleansers helps maintain the naturally acidic protective layer of your skin.

Facial Cleanser Basics
Witch-hazel, water or herbal vinegars make good bases for oily skin, while aloe juice, water or herbal teas are dry-skin bases. For each tablespoon of base, add 2 to 3 drops of essential oil.

For dry skin, add:
1 drop geranium, 1 drop sandalwood

For oily skin, add:
2 drops eucalyptus, 1 drop grapefruit

For teenage skin, add:
2 drops tea tree, 1 drop lavender
