Take the time to craft this luxurious, body-stimulating Rose Petal Mineral Soak. The mix of detoxifying grapefruit and ginger oils coupled with Epsom salt will draw the winter-weariness out of your body, while the rose soothes and balances your physical being and emotional heart-center. Mix ingredients and dissolve into bath:

Generous heap of fresh, torn rose petals
½ cup Epsom salt
1 tablespoon sodium bicarbonate
3-4 tablets (crushed) or 1 tablespoon of citric acid crystals
12 drops grapefruit essential oil
9 drops ginger essential oil
3 drops rose otto or rose absolute

Nothing revitalizes quite as well as this Skin Reviving Body Scrub. The exfoliating sugar granules are a gentle way to slough off dead skin while the almond oil nourishes dull winter skin and leaves a healthy, glowing sheen. Mix ingredients in a bowl. Gently buff over skin in circular motions. Rinse off in shower. The sugar will dissolve away.

ESSENTIAL OIL OF THE MONTH

CLOVE

This spicy essential oil is distilled from the dried, unopened flower buds of the tropical clove tree, the same spice that is so essential to baking…especially around the holidays. The distinctive warm-spicy aroma is due to a constituent called eugenol, which is also used in dental preparations for its numbing effect. In aromatherapy practice, clove bud is often added to diffused blends to lend its comforting, heart-warming note for emotional support. There’s something about clove buds familiar, homey scent that seems to ease anxiety and lift the spirits.

Clove & Rose Bud Heart-warming Diffusion

3 tablespoons water
9 drops clove bud essential oil
1 drop rose otto or rose absolute oil
candle lamp diffuser

Mix ingredients. Place in the well of a candle lamp. Light candle to release subtle aromatherapy effects.
