Whether you’re in a brand new relationship or a partnership that has lasted for decades, you can use aromatherapy to enhance passion between you and your Valentine.
Tom Havran, Aura Cacia aromatherapy specialist, says that there are a number of oils that the romantically inclined might find useful. "Depending on the situation," he says, "you might want to create a relaxing atmosphere, a stimulating one, or a sensual one -- and essential oils are the perfect starting point for any of them."
Havran sorts romance-boosting essential oils into four groups: 1) Oils that offer calming effects, reducing anxiety and self-consciousness to open the path to intimacy. 2) Oils known for stimulating and inspiring properties that can excite
romance. 3) Oils that balance the hormonal system directly to arouse sexual desire. 4) Oils that have been used
throughout history as sexual attractants. Here are some specific essential oils in each category:
1) Calming/opening: neroli, rose otto, ylang ylang, rose absolute
2) Stimulating/exciting: cardamom, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon bark
3) Balancing/Arousing: geranium, clary sage, lavender, sweet marjoram
4) Attracting/sensualizing: sandalwood, patchouli, jasmine, cedarwood
